Spellers of the world, what would I do without you? It’s a wattle! Sorry it’s taken me so long, I haven’t had much time for sewing lately. This is a sneak peak at what I’m working on. All I have left to decide on is the mouth/teeth/beak? Who knows what sort of twisted hybrid this creature will be?

Hello! Here’s a quick post to say I am working away in my crafty corner of the living room, preparing something sensational to dazzle your senses. I’ve been doing some tentacle explorations lately, which is often frustrating. Tentacles are hard! Hard to turn inside out and hard to stuff. Oy.

In the meantime, here is a picture of something I rescued from the store room at work today. It just cried out to me, and I couldn’t bear to see it headed to the dumpster.

It is a wind-up (obviously) and it does a cool little hoppity-hop when you let it go.

It will now live near my sewing machine and watch over all my plushy endeavors.

The Manx is a funny looking creature! A semi-rotund, tailless cat. This is my interpretation, commissioned by a friend and lover of manxes. I hope I did it justice.

Kind of resembles an Ork (of Lord of the Rings fame), doesn’t it?

Adorable, nonetheless.

This is my backyard. (Although “yard” may be a stretch)

And from the top! Look at those ears.

This was an experimental piece, and my second attempt at a Manx shape. I am really pleased with the tabby-esque fur pattern. It took a long time to sew together.

A Manx Haiku:

I woke up one day,

And my tail had disappeared!

I am still confused.

The long lost, land-dwelling cousin of the narwhal! (and distant descendant of the velociraptor.)

A mysterious creature.

I’m taking a short break from my many maggots to try something new.

I’ve had this sketch in my book for a while now.

I still don’t really know what it is. Other than it has six legs, a horn, and a huge heart.

Other than that, it’s a total mystery.
