Here are my New Years Crafty Resolutions:
1. Find innovative ways to use up my growing piles of fleece scraps.
I tried to do this today by making this:
It’s just a yellow ball stuffed with fleece scraps instead of the usual polyfil. It’s not satisfyingly squishable, like my other plushies are. Also, I think the scraps will be more difficult to use in more complex shapes. Overall, this experiment was a bust. Does anyone have any suggestions for innovative ways to dispose of fabric scraps? Let me know!
2. Work on completely new designs.
I’ve spent the last few days ringing in the new year in NYC. The big city is rife with inspiration. For example:
I think both of these will inspire some creepy and wonderful new designs.
3. Learn new techniques.
This past year I’ve learned how to embroider and knit, and explored patchwork. What’s next on the list? Crochet, quilting, and using my sewing machine to its full capacity. (There are a lot of settings and functions I don’t even know about on that thing!)
4. Get a business license and use it! I’m ready to take PterodactylPants to a new level.
Thanks to all of you who’ve been loyal readers! We are approaching one full year of plush blogging, and I am excited to see what this next year will bring.
I have the feeling you are a veritable conglomerate waiting to happen. Go forth and multiply…businesswise, of course.
