Mistakes Made Marvelous

Every two months the Plush Team issues a challenge to its members – to stretch the imagination and create something exciting and new, based on a specific theme. You may remember such classic plush team challenge entries from the past as the Crystal Ball, the Mummy Maggot, and the Walrus. The January/February team challenge should reflect a special New Year’s Resolution. I’ve decided to call mine The Resolution: Be Nicer to People. I started it this week.

Then I realized it was all wrong.

There was, however, a glimmer of hope in the plush mess I had made. And luckily for me, out popped this little monster.

It has turned out to be a very sunny, upbeat piece. But it does have a slightly sinister air about it. You can feel it watching you from its perch on a shelf across the room.

Due to the penetrating stare, I’m calling this piece the Clairvoyant.

Creepy yet warm. Strange yet squeezable!

Best of all, this monster comes equipped with storage space! Use the handy front pocket to tuck away your tiny valuables. The Clairvoyant will watch over your curios for you while you’re away (as long as they are pocket-sized!).

The All-Seeing Haiku:

Secret messages

Pass between my ears and stay

Safe in my pocket.

So, the moral of the story is mistakes are good. This piece gave me a boost of confidence after a slump of non-creativity. Now I can go forth and bring my new year’s resolution to plush-life. It’s going to be insanely awesome.

In non-plush news, I’ll be taking a big test next weekend after 4 years of non-schooling. Yikes! Forgive me if the blog is a little quiet in the upcoming week, as I study my butt off in preparation!

Wish me luck.
